Lavendulia a new mouse does the laundry

Lavendulia that is married to Baccharis, the baker from the chestnut stub does some washing in her cozy laundry room. When you have 4 baby mice there will always be a lot to clean and iron. She better hurry before they wake up from their nap.

Storytelling with Asminia

Asmina the oldest female mouse in the garden likes to read for her grandchildren. After their parents Lavendulia and Baccahris have given them a bath and tucked them into bed, it’s Asminias turn to care for them. She cuddles herself up in a large chair and starts reading with her soft voice. The baby mice carefully listen, and soon they fall asleep.

Christmas

Christmas night and “theminimice” gathered at the chestnut stub for the ultimate feast. They all participated in the cooking for Christmas and brought some for sharing. A wonderful time of the year. After the meal they sit in front of the fire and the children mice will get some presents. From their hearts to yours “We wish you all a Merry Christmas”

Let there be light

Outside the bakery at the chestnut stub "theminimice" had put lights in the tree that Rubus and the children mice found the other day.
“It makes this dark time of year so much more welcoming, and greets every mouse that visit the bakery”. Rubus said. Even from a distance one could hear tiny voices singing Christmas carols, and light that sparkled from a stub in the abandoned garden.

Drinking tea

It's nothing wrong with Mrs. Asmina even tough she sits in a wheelchair. She is just an old mouse, getting tired in her joints. She prefers to sit in the chestnut stub’s dining room. Reading and drinking her tea in the afternoon. A warm plaid makes her so much more comfortable.

Mice chocolate chip cookies

As promised Baccharis the baker mouse would like to show you his secret recipe
 for chocolate chip cookies.

Baccharis and Asmina from the chestnut stub are enjoying a quiet
Sunday afternoon in the kitchen. Baking cookies and chatting for hours.

The famous mice chocolate chip cookies

Here is the recipe:

Chocolate chip cookies

1 cup butter room temperature, but not too soft
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar

Preheat oven to 350 F or 175 Celsius
Cream together butter and sugar in mixer until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at the time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add it to batter along with salt. Stir in flour and cream of tartar. Then stir in the chocolate chips. Put on baking sheet aligned with paper. Use an ice-cream scoop. Press the cookies a bit down with your hand. Not to much but just as it is no longer dome shaped. Bake for about 11 minutes. Makes 24 large cookies. Cool on baking tray.

Asminia's kitchen is warm and inviting. She likes to make pickles from  the garden produce and cook on both her stoves. For large parties they are a must.

Enjoying a book while Baccharis bake the cookies.

Asminia and Baccharis wish you a nice weekend, and do try their cookies. They are "micelicious"
